Struggling with depression abroad? Work with me

Moving abroad is a thrilling adventure filled with new experiences, cultures, and opportunities. However, the transition often brings challenges that can significantly impact our mental health. This is the narrative of my recent podcast episode, where I share my struggles when adapting to a new culture and battling depression.
I highlight the importance of recognising the pressures associated with moving abroad and the need to develop coping strategies, stressing the accent on how relocating isn’t always the solution to our problems; instead, we often carry our issues with us, like unwelcome luggage.

Moving abroad can be a dream come true for many, but it also brings a sense of pressure. We feel the need to prove ourselves right to all the people who were sceptical about your decision. What do we need to give ourselves grace and credit for taking such a massive step? After all, we are already proving that we can make a living elsewhere, a feat not everyone dares to undertake.

In this episode, I hope that my journey shows how our mental health can impact our capacity to welcome and accept the good things that come our way.
Remember, you are not alone in this journey. Whether you’re battling depression or struggling to adapt to a new culture, there are resources and strategies available to help.  We owe it to ourselves to find joy, flourish, and nurture our mental wellbeing wherever we may be, and we don’t need to do this alone.
